Devon Wedding Photographer
Relaxed effortless imagery for couples who just want to have fun.

I’m Cara Griffiths,
Meet me on the Hill, a Devon wedding photographer with 10 years experience, for the easy-going fun-loving couples.
I’m a ‘live life to the max’ kinda person who loves to travel, have fun and be outdoors. I value photography as a joyful visual reminder, of the big, and little, moments in life.
Good documentary photography is all about seeing the beauty in life, not directing it.
I don’t stage or pose things throughout the day, you just do you. It’s in the real moments where the beauty lies and what matters most is spending the day in the company of the people you love.

Just want to be yourself and do it your way?
Natural documentary wedding photography for the win.
I won’t interrupt your day to ask you to pose, but I will be there capturing all those moments in a natural, ‘no-stress’ way.
Sometimes I will blend into the background and you won’t know that I am there, sometimes I will be amongst the action capturing the emotions up close. You don’t have to do anything but enjoy your day, which always results in the best photos.

Want to see some of these real and incredible memories?
Do you want your coverage to include time around the campfire and the two of you under the night stars?

Questions?
Most couples book me for my all day package. I don’t limit the time but they are usually between 10 and 12 hours, sometimes more if there is partying into the night. This is because the more time I get to spend with you, the better your photos will be. It really helps to get to know all your important people during the morning getting ready and those photos all tell the story of the day. It’s good to have the time to put into getting really special couple photos without being rushed too. Also, the evening dancefloor is when people are more relaxed and I can capture all the shenanigans from inside the party. I just ask that the hours are reasonable and that I get a hot meal at some point in the day to keep my energy levels up.
I don’t limit the number of photos that I take and you will get all of the good ones, edited in my style and delivered on an online gallery that’s shareable with friends and family. You will get at least 600 images for a full day but it really depends on how much is going on, its often a lot more. You can download them all from the gallery, or order yourself a lovey USB stick direct from the gallery to keep them on.
Hell yes. My business and me are inclusive of everyone, no matter their colour, race, ability or sexuality. I appreciate everyone for who they are.
I feel your pain, I am mega awkward in front of a camera too, but the best photos of me are ones that professional photographers have taken of me being myself and I LOOOOVVVEE my wedding photos. I barely noticed that the photographer was there I was having such a good time. My husband was reluctant to hire a photographer, as many grooms are at first (don’t worry – that was back then before I was one) and now he says it’s the best thing we did and he really treasures those images, as do our kids. Because I shoot in documentary style you can just get on with having the most awesome day of your life. The only times I direct things are during the family group shots and the couple shoot where I give some directions to help you get amazing natural photos. The little in between moments when you are just being YOU are the best shots.
Yes, I love a 2 or 3 day party. I have a package for couples that want a photographer to capture the whole thing. Its great getting to know the families and guests and it can result in the most amazing photos as people are relax around me and some of the best shit happens when you least expect it. I would need accommodation – the closer to the action the better.
Absofrickenlutely! I bloody love when couples make their wedding unique and veer from the usual traditions. It’s your day and you are the best people to know how that should play out. So if your wedding is a pub crawl, or on a boat or you have a bucking bronco or slippery pole to entertain guests, and your friend is doing the ceremony, I want to be there. Hit me up now!
That’s me, problem solving on the fly, getting best shot I can for you. Rest assured that I will be putting 100% effort in all day.

Cara shot our wedding and my gosh was she an absolutely fantastic photographer. So friendly, professional and completely understood the type of shots we wanted - relaxed, natural and incorporating our adventurous spirits. She absolutely smashed it and I still get chills looking through the photography. I can’t recommend her enough!

Why I became a wedding photographer in Devon
I moved to Devon 16 years ago and loved the landscapes and wilderness of Dartmoor, the beaches of the South Hams and the rugged north coast of Devon. It’s a great place to be if you love the outdoors.
I live on the edge of Dartmoor, halfway between Plymouth and Exeter, in the fab little community of Ashburton, in a low carbon eco-house we built. Rest assured that while I am editing your photos, I am not burning any fossil fuels!
Being a wedding photographer makes me happy, giving you the photographs that mean a lot to you, helping you remember all the special little moments in your wedding day, and being able to share them with the next generations of your family.
Devon is a popular place to get married, whether you’ve lived here all your life, moved away and come back or just love to visit. There are lot of couples who come from all over Britain to get married here as there are so many stunning venues, beautiful scenery and adventures to be had.
I am here to help you on that journey, with lots of local knowledge to share. Check out my Devon Wedding Venue Guide below.

Finding Inspiration

Beautiful Shilstone House Wedding
Just a few pictures from Erin and Matt’s gorgeous summer wedding at Shilstone House. Such a lovely fun and laid back couple who really enjoyed their day to the max. Erin’s attention to detail was next level and the decor and flowers were styled and put together in a such a stunning way by Beth at Room for Bloom events. One of my favourite moments was down by the river with just the couple and us, capturing a few shots of them just enjoying being together in the soft golden light.

Tunnels Beaches – What a wedding Venue!
I always get excited when I am asked to shoot a wedding at Tunnels Beaches. It has to be one of the coolest venues in Devon and maybe one of the most unique in the whole of the UK. Imagine your guests walking down the ancient hand carved tunnels to be wowed by that stunning coastal view and the beaches just a few steps below the beautifully modern, purpose built venue. Just lush.

Wedding at The Old Vicarage, Christchurch
The Old Vicarage in Christchurch, Dorset was the lovely setting for Hollybeth and Jack’s wedding. Hollybeth was one of the nicest brides I have ever met and the evening party was absolutely jumping when the bride and bridesmaids started singing with the band. Such good times, we had a great laugh.
