I really hope that I get to photograph more weddings with ‘wedding karaoke’. So funny and really showed the love that Myat and Mya, one of the sweetest couples I’ve ever met, felt for each other. Their joyous wedding at Pier One, by Plymouth Hoe, overlooking the sea, was such an honour to be part of.
Mya and Myat serenaded each other with beautiful songs before some great dancing with everyone singing along. Talented guests then took to the microphone and sang tunes from their home country.
Not all their family and friends from home could be there but Mya’s mum managed to travel from Myanmar for the occasion, which was very special.
Mya’s beautiful dress was a gift from her sister in law all the way from Myanmar.
Photography wise, as I always do, I tried to capture the emotions, the joy that was felt by everyone alongside the laughs, karaoke and the crazy kid antics, real moments that you could never fake.
The catering was all done by the venue Pier One, in Plymouth, and I have to say the food was great. I especially loved the Tom Yum soup. The staff were also very accommodating and lovely at every moment. Thanks guys.
A friend of the bride and groom who runs Wu Kitchen made some phenomenally tasty cheese cake canapes. I am definitely going to look her up in the future.
