The Barn at South Milton was the wedding venue for Annie and Andy’s stunning September wedding. It’s located in the South Hams, a stones throw from one of me and my kids’ favourite beaches in Devon, South Milton beach. The Barn at South Milton has lots of rustic warm charm and the outdoor space has views of the sea and is a perfect place to have camping and a chilled festival vibe wedding. There is also lots of holiday accommodation in surrounding villages, and with really close access, the beach is one of my favourite places for couple photos. A great place to relax the day before or after too, theres even a fab beach cafe down by the beach.

Annie and Andy created such a beautiful day with so much fun and laughter and Andy’s band were just brilliant. The crowd loved them. These guys totally nailed creating a gorgeous vibe on the day and The Barn at South Milton was the perfect venue for it.

Bride and groom preparations were both at different accommodations in Salcombe, with fabulous views of the harbour, and a nice easy walk to the Holy Trinity Church for their ceremony. Salcombe holds a special place in their families hearts with happy memories of family holidays and good times.

We met the couple down on the beach to take some gorgeous photos by the sea and with the very cool vintage Aston Martin that they had rented for the day, before they headed up to the barn in it.

Back at the Barn at South Milton, the couple arrived in the beautifully preserved vintage Aston Martin and soon were showered with confetti from guests. Canapes and drinks were enjoyed outside and the delicious olive bar for snacking on in the sunshine, specifically chosen by Annie, was a lovely touch. Paul and Paula at the Barn at South Milton worked hard to co-ordinate the day flawlessly.

The stunning flowers were by local florist Caroline Hodges who did a spectacular job. The flower bouquets, button holes and flower decoration in the church were beautiful, I especially liked the mix of pinks and deep reds. Back at the barn, she had expertly created a large installation of flowers to decorate the ceiling of the barn, with fairly lights leading up to it, which really made the barn decor stand out beautifully. The bride had put the small floral table decorations together and guests particularly enjoyed the funny photos that each of them were given at their place setting. The first speech by the brides dad was held outside and the speeches from the best men, groom and bride all took place once guests were seated in the barn.
The food by Kate Pennell catering was also fantastic – I can definitely recommend it.

As one of my favourite venues, I really look forward to working at The Barn at South Milton again soon.
Apologies if I have not tagged some vendors in this post. Please let me know if you were the first duo band who played during the drinks reception.
