Bec and Chris have gone on many an epic adventure together and getting married is their most recent one. Their love for the outdoors and spending quality time with their family and friends meant a lot to them which really showed in their super-chilled wedding day in the heart of the New Forest.
They chose me to be their wedding photographer after I had photographed Chris’ sister’s wedding and they loved the photos. I had so many lovely comments from their family that they thought the images were so unique and really captures the feeling of the day of the day and everything that was going on. One Aunty even said mine were the best wedding photos she had ever seen – what a compliment! (And me cringing big time at the shameless self promotion).
Warborne Farm provided a beautiful backdrop with its rustic barns, gorgeous accommodation and orchard surrounded by animals and fields and home grown veg. The colours, styling and table plans were centred around ordnance survey maps which tied in beautifully with their wedding and what they are about as a couple.
I loved how they used the epic hikes that they had journeyed on together for their table names and it was so interesting to flick through the albums they had created for each of these to preserve their memories. Photography and recording these events is clearly important to them and gives them a lot of joy.
Bec chose her stunning simple dress from The Reformation, an environmentally conscious company. Read about their amazing sustainability credentials here.
They chose to have their ceremony outdoors in the orchard, I do love an outdoor ceremony. The light is so nice for photos and its just lovely to be surrounded by trees and your most treasured people. After the ceremony everyone had drinks and canapes and played games on the lawns before going into the big open ended barn for speeches and dinner.
The caterers were Idelica, who I can’t recommend enough, and they did a stellar job of providing delicious platters of tapas style food and delicious big pizzas at the end of the night.
Paul Thorne was the singer and acoustic guitarist who set the perfect mood and atmosphere for dancing around the campfire and toasting marshmallows at the end of the night. I didn’t want to leave.
